On podcast episode #004 of “The Common Sense Say Show,” where I, Dr. Thais Speaks, "The Common Sensei" tell the story of how a homeless guy asks for money to get some coffee. This homeless guy may really want some coffee, but is he in the right environment to be asking for someone to purchase the kind of coffee he wants? Yes, he’s in a coffee house, but just stop and think…is the particular coffee house that he’s in, the right place to ask for coffee or should he ask for coffee somewhere else? What are the chances that people would help him purchase the coffee? I take the example of what we are to learn here out of the coffee house, and away from the homeless man to something more relatable to us…like purchasing a car. I share how we tend to live above our means without taking other factors into consideration and then how we expect people to come to our rescue when we can't fully pay for our decisions.

I have titled this show “Crafty Homeless People, They’re Just Like Us.”

On episode #003 of “The Common Sense Say Show,” Dr. Thais Speaks, "The Common Sensei" addresses how businesses show handle business much better when it comes to customer service.

I share an event of when I was having lunch with friends and the waitress explained what the lunch special was. The special wasn’t anything complicated, but the waitress was not clear with the lunch stipulations, which made my experience at this restaurant just a tad bit awkward between me and the waitress.

I have titled this show “Be Clear with Your Order and Don’t Stab Your Waitress.” Even in reading this topic, I think about the many times that I have gone to restaurants and there has been a miscommunication between someone at my table and the wait staff. What’s going on? Are the wait staff not being properly trained? Or are they being trained at all? There is a specific tactic that you can use on your waiter or waitress that will override their canned responses to you and well, I used it, but I guess my waitress was immune to the strategic tactic, so it didn’t work on her, but let me tell you…it works on most J And after tell what happened at the restaurant, in true Common Sense Say Show fashion, I explained what should have happened and what restaurants can learn from this customer’s experience.

After I share my experience in the restaurant, I give an example to business-owners of some things to consider when offering a reward to your customers. What type of reward system are you setting up and once the reward system is implemented, how is it maintained under different customers’ circumstances. Business owners should be clear with their specials and their rewards, and no one will get hurt.

On episode #002 of “The Common Sense Say Show,” Dr. Thais Speaks, "The Common Sensei" addresses the horrible behavior of some inconsiderate people who use the public restroom to go number 2 (that’s code for: poop, taking a dump, pushing out the unpleasants), in “The Stank: Doing #2 in Public Restrooms.” We know that there are some times when you absolutely must go! But when that time comes, there are protocols that must be followed!

How many times have you walked into a public restroom and felt like you were about to pass out from the foul odor that someone was creating in one of the stalls? Do you ever ask yourself, “why are they just sitting in this funk?” Do these people even realize that other people can smell them? We need to bring in Dr. Thais who can help to breakdown the proper way to use the public restroom down, when doing #2. This episode will have you listening will your mouth wide-opened and agreeing with every bit of advice given by Dr. Thais.
